Oliver! + other things

So MPA has announced their next show for April-May 2012: Oliver!
From what I gather there's still a few days left to book an audition so if you're keen check out the links below:

I'm really keen to help out with lighting again this time around. It'll be a different experience to Little Shop of Horrors, with the contrasting music, story and a much larger cast. Even with LSoH only closing recently, I'm already itching to get involved in another show. By hopefully getting invloved earlier than I did for LSoH, I aim to gain a better understanding of what goes into the lighting design process for a stage musical.

Little Shop Photos

Little Shop of Horrors closed last night- I was unable to attend sadly due to dinner with my grandparents- but I bet it was an amazing night. This being my first show with MPA, I've learnt alot about lighting, and I'm really keen to do more shows with them. Full credit to the cast, their acting and vocals were incredible, NAPTA winners for sure. Next April/May is Oliver- can't wait! Below are a few photos that I took on set on Friday night:

Almost over... + a little background

Little Shop of Horrors is now almost over, with only two shows left; tonight and the final performance on Saturday night. It's been a fantastic experience helping light (if only on a few nights xD) the show. The cast and crew are a hilarious bunch of people and the show itself was great too. Little Shop was the first show I was a part of outside school productions,

Phantom 25th

Well, I thought I'd make my first post of any substance.

I went and saw the Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary performance at the movies last Wednesday. Late I know. But that's NZ for you.

Anyway, I thought it was cool. Not awesome or amazing, but cool. When the Overture started and the Chandelier didn't move I was a bit gutted but I did like what they did with the 'Proscenium Arch', and the projections worked well in place of a full stage. I was lucky enough to see the live production when it was in Auckland back in 2008.

Righty-O

Experiment time.

This is my first blog. Still under construction. For now it's just a place to write about musicals and other stuff I've seen/done.
So here goes.
